12 Updates for Instaproofs Users

1) Customize Session Time and Duration Text

Keep reading to learn three different powerful applications of this option:

Portrait sessions

For the occasions in which all parties are ready to book, but an exact time hasn’t been agreed upon yet. Fill in the blank with the information that is currently true, to increase the quality of communication and decrease client confusion.

Bulk-Scheduled Mini Sessions

Many photographers are still enjoying Porchrait Sessions—sessions in which the photographer travels around town and meets up with families on their front porches for quick, on-site mini-sessions. Typically, photographers have families commit to a window of time, rather than an exact time slot. Jump to 2:10 in the video below to learn how simple it is to communicate timing with our new customization option.

Workshops and Retreats

Registering participants for an event that spans multiple days? Congratulations! The video below, starting at 4:05, details the easy customization process that will help your customers understand exactly what they’re signing up for, every step of the way.

2) Booking Transaction Reports

You can now create reports for your booking transactions, broken down by sessions and/or session types. To create this report, simply navigate to Reports » Booking Transactions.

3) Display Details for Multiple Orders at Once

Sorting and distributing prints for youth leagues, dance recitals, school photos, and more just got so much easier.

You can now display the details for multiple orders at once by clicking on their checkboxes and
selecting the new “Display Printable Order Details” option from the bottom of the action droplist (scroll!).

This option was created by request: photographers who do multiple sessions at once (like the above examples, youth leagues, dance recitals, etc.) wanted a quicker, easier way to view the individual order details so the sorting and distributing process would also be quicker and easier.

4) QR Codes for Galleries and Sessions

Sharing galleries has never been easier—you can now create QR codes for your galleries in one deft move!

5) Simplified Full-Gallery Downloads

Hold on to your hats—this is a big one! File names on downloads have been updated to be much more useful.

For instance, files that used to be displayed as:

  • [identifier]_[unique ID]_[file type]_1.zip

  • [identifier]_[unique ID]_[file type]_2.zip

  • identifier]_[unique ID]_[file type]_3.zip

Have now been updated to look like this instead:

  • PhotoDownload_[unique ID]__1_of_3.zip

  • PhotoDownload_[unique ID]__2_of_3.zip

  • PhotoDownload_[unique ID]__3_of_3.zip

(The [unique ID] value is used to help differentiate the file sets downloaded from different galleries.)

Additionally, if a category spans multiple zip files, the category names will be changed to say "Set 2,” "Set 3,” etc. for each additional zip file necessary to contain the category.

Finally, download link labels within emails are labeled more clearly:

  • Download Photos [1 of 3]

  • Download Photos [2 of 3]

  • Download Photos [3 of 3]

Instead of the previous language:

  • Download Link 1

  • Download Link 2

  • Download Link 3

6) Customizable “Offline Payment” Text Within the Invoices

Enjoy more Invoicing functionality! Now, when you select “Disable Online Payments,” you can customize the text on the payment button. Previously, the text only said “Pay by Cash or Check,” but now, it can say whatever you need it to say! Some photographers have used, “Pay by Bank Transfer,” and others have used “Pay the School Directly.”

What do you need that button to say?

7) The Ability for the Client to Save an Invoice as a PDF

For clients who want or need to save a copy for themselves, the option to save the invoice as a PDF has been added to the bottom of the invoice screen. Your corporate clients are going to love you even more!

8) Customizable Link Text Within the Booking Leads Pages

Even more of your Booking Leads Page is now customizable! The links that were previously labeled as “Galleries” and “Website” can now be customized to say anything that you’d like! Navigate to the Booking » Leads Page to customize your links today!

9) Add Product Videos to Showcase Your Products

Seeing is believing—upload product videos to showcase your products! This simple upgrade will allow your clients to more fully understand the details and quality of the items they’re considering purchasing, and could quite possibly move them from “this could be a nice thing to get,” to “this is an absolute must!”

10) Streamlined Session Options Through New Option Menus

New menus have been added to the top of the Booking Sessions pages (both Full and Multi/Mini Sessions, with a couple of new options! The menus streamline the location of links that were previously placed throughout the page, and the new options include “Copy URL”, and for Multi/Mini Sessions, “Email Booked Clients.” Keep reading to learn more about the emailing option!

11) The Ability to Email All of Your Booked Clients at Once

Emailing all the clients that have been booked for a specific day (mini sessions, workshop, etc.) has never been easier! An “Email Booked Clients” option has been added to the new menu at the top of the Multi/Mini Sessions area within the Booking module. Simply expand the menu, click the “Emal Booked Clients” button, and send a message to all of your booked clients at once!

12) New Greeting Card Types: Save the Date, Graduation, and Baby/Birth Announcement

Tell your clients—working with you is now a one-stop-shop! In addition to Holiday Cards, you can now also sell Save the Date, Graduation, and Baby/Birth Announcements.
