2023 in Review: Part 3

Welcome back to the last installment of our “2023 in Review” blog series! As a reminder, this series is intended to present data to inspire and inform you. We hope you find value in these numbers!

We’re rounding out this series with a look back at shipping costs and speed, as well as order fulfillment by our lab partners in 2023.

1) First, let’s consider the average shipping rates charged by photographers across storefront order totals, as well as the average shipping costs across our lab partners.

Takeaway - You’ll see that most photographers charge less to ship than labs do. This is a great business tactic because consumers can be sensitive to shipping rates and photographers can make up the difference by increasing the product cost instead. Consider adjusting your product and/or shipping prices accordingly and then see how ochanges may impact your business for the better!

2) Next, let’s look at the average number of days until storefront orders are shipped from when they’re placed, as well as, average lab production times. With this data, you can compare self-fulfillment order times vs. Instaproofs lab fulfillment times, and consider which labs offered the fastest product times (on average) in 2023.

Takeaway - We may be a little biased, but we’re personally thrilled to see that our lab fulfillment offered you all faster order-to-ship speeds than self-fulfillment options. If you haven’t tried our lab fulfillment before, maybe 2024 is the time to start!

3) While we don’t have any takeaways for you in this section, you may find it interesting to see the lab popularity (by order volume) among you and your peers in 2023. If you haven’t heard, we also recently onboarded a new lab partner, theFINDlab!
